Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics of Lomonosov Moscow state University organizes an International Workshop “UNIVERSAT/LRT” (University satellites: “Lomonosov:”, “RELEC”, “Tatiana”), which will be held on June 7-10, 2010 in Lomonosov Moscow State University. The objective of the meeting concerns the space projects of the Moscow University – scientific and educational satellites “Lomonosov”, “RELEC”, “Universitetsky-Tatiana-2” along with the space project “Chibis” developed by the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Moscow University.
The basic experiments on-board these satellites are aimed at the studies of the following problems:
- transient events in the Earth’s atmosphere (transient luminous events – TLE, along with electromagnetic emissions and particles generation related to them),
- gamma-bursts in the Universe,
- cosmic rays of the ultrahigh energy (UHECR) near the Greisen-Zatsepin-Kuzmin (GZK) cutoff.
The program of the meeting will include the invited reports on the projects (June 7) and panel collaboration meetings on the specific projects (June 8-10).
The LOC plans to organize an excursion in the Moscow area on June 11.
